Determination of Optical Rotation Based on Liquid Crystal Polymer Vortex Retarder and Digital Image Processing

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
A polarimeter for optical rotation (OR) detection and optical active media measurement based on m=1 Zero-Order Liquid Crystal Polymer Vortex Half-Wave Retarder (LCPVR) and Digital Image Processing (DIP) was proposed in this letter.

Rotating Optical Soliton Clusters [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2002
We introduce the concept of soliton clusters -- multi-soliton bound states in a homogeneous bulk optical medium, and reveal a key physical mechanism for their stabilization associated with a staircase-like phase distribution that induces a net angular momentum and leads to cluster rotation.

High-Throughput Chiral Molecule Determination Based on Multi-Channel Weak Measurement

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2021
A multi-channel high-throughput chiral molecule determination method based on weak value amplification (WVA) is proposed for the first time. This method can be used for high-throughput and high-precision determination of chiral molecule.

High-Precise Measurement of Optical Rotatory Dispersion Based on Weak Value Amplification

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2021
Chiroptical signals (generally very weak) play significant roles in chiral discrimination that bring great benefits in biochemistry, pharmacy, chemical, and so on. But, high-precise chiroptical detection is still a challenge.

Comparative Analysis of Physical and Chemical Properties of Differently Obtained Zn—Methionine Chelate with Proved Antibiofilm Properties (Part II)

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2023
The previously demonstrated activity of aqueous solutions of methionine and zinc salts against biofilms of uropathogenic bacteria prompted us to investigate the structure and properties of zinc methionine complex obtained from such solutions.

Synthesis and luminescent properties of novel red-emitting Eu(III) complexes based on alanine aliphatic derivatives with different optical rotation

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2020
A series of novel luminescent amino acid-rare earth complexes (denoted as Eu(L/D-SA) _3 -Phen) have been successfully synthesized. Using stearoyl alanine (denoted as SA) with different optical rotations as the first ligand and 1,10-phenanthroline (Phen ...

Fast Rotation Matching Method for SAR and Optical Images

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2021
The rotation matching between synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and optical images is essential for their registration. In this article, we introduce a novel fast rotation matching method for SAR and optical images.

Robust and high‐speed rotation control in optical tweezers by using polarization synthesis based on heterodyne interference

open access: yesOpto-Electronic Advances, 2020
The rotation control of particles in optical tweezers is often subject to the spin or orbit angular momentum induced optical torque, which is susceptible to the mechanical and morphological properties of individual particle.

Calculations of optical rotation: Influence of molecular structure [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2012
Ab initio Hartree-Fock (HF) method and Density Functional Theory (DFT) were used to calculate the optical rotation of 26 chiral compounds. The effects of theory and basis sets used for calculation, solvents influence on the geometry and values of ...

Square pulse emission with ultra-low repetition rate utilising non-linear polarisation rotation technique

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2014
The generation of nanosecond square pulse and microsecond harmonic pulse in a passively mode-locked fibre ring laser is demonstrated by inserting a 20 km long single mode fibre in the cavity. The laser operates in anomalous region based on the non-linear
