Integration of photonic nanojets and semiconductor nanoparticles for enhanced all-optical switching
All-optical switching is the foundation of emerging all-optical (terabit-per-second) networks and processors. All-optical switching has attracted considerable attention, but it must ultimately support operation with femtojoule switching energies and ...

Integrated five-port non-blocking optical router based on mode-selective property
In this paper, we propose and demonstrate a five-port optical router based on mode-selective property. It utilizes different combinations of four spatial modes at input and output ports as labels to distinguish its 20 routing paths. It can direct signals

This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

DESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF OPTICAL SWITCH FOR DATA CENTER NETWORKS INCORPORATING ACO-OFDM WITH PAPR REDUCTION [PDF]
Currently optical data centers heavily rely on electronics for information transfer. In near future electronic switching will face problem in supporting higher data rates. Therefore, a slow migration from electronic to optical switching has been observed.

Nonlinear switching of low-index defect modes in photonic lattices
We address nonlinear signal switching between two low-index defect channels induced in periodic optical lattices. In contrast to conventional directional couplers, where the guiding mechanism is total internal reflection or refraction, in such Bragg-type

Fractional Skyrmion Tubes in Chiral‐Interfaced 3D Magnetic Nanowires
In chiral 3D helical magnetic nanowires, the coupling between the geometric and magnetic chirality provides a way to create topological spin states like vortex tubes. Here, it is demonstrated how the breaking of this coupling in interfaced 3D nanowires of opposite chirality leads to even more complex topological spin states, such as fractional ...
