Interferometric optical vortex array generator
Applied Optics, 2007Two new interferometric configurations for optical vortex array generation are presented. These interferometers are different from the conventional interferometers in that they are capable of producing a large number of isolated zeros of intensity, and all of them contain optical vortices. Simulation and theory for optical vortex array generation using

Optical vortex trapping of particles
Optics Letters, 1996We demonstrate three-dimensional trapping of low-index particles (20-microm-diameter hollow glass spheres in water) by using a single, strongly focused, stationary dark optical vortex laser beam. The holographically generated vortex, which is similar to a TEM(01)* mode beam, was also used to trap and form ring patterns of high-index particles.

Optical processing with vortex-producing lenses
Applied Optics, 2003We discuss two types of optical processing using vortex-producing angular phase plates. In the most common spatial-filtering operation, an input object is Fourier transformed (either by Fraunhofer diffraction or with a lens system). The Fourier transform is then multiplied by an angular phase pattern, and the product is again Fourier transformed.

Optical Vortex Beams and Optical Vortices
Laser & Optoelectronics Progress, 2008The basic principle, generation, transformation and application of optical vortex beams and optical vortices are briefly summarized, as well as their progress. A brief outlook about the future study and applications of optical vortex beams and optical vortices is discussed.

We describe a phenomenon of nonlinear optics that occurs in the framework of transverse effects and optical vortices in lasers. We find that in a class-B laser vortices can never be at rest, but move, starting from an initial symmetry breaking of the direction of motion, continuously.
