Entangled transverse optical vortex
Optics Letters, 2014We discuss a new kind of optical vortex with the angular momentum perpendicular to the flow direction and entangled in that it is a coherent combination of different orbital angular momentum states of the same sign. This entangled state exhibits many unexpected physical properties.

Asymmetric Gaussian optical vortex
Optics Letters, 2016We theoretically study a Gaussian optical beam with an embedded off-axis optical vortex. We also experimentally generate such an asymmetric Gaussian optical vortex by using an off-axis spiral phase plate. It is shown that depending on the shift distance the laser beam has the form of a crescent, which is rotated upon propagation.

In this review the author presents the major works, that according to his opinion have played a historically important part in the formation and development of one of the most mysterious sections of modern optics - vortex (or singular) optics. Singular optics studies the behavior of light in the areas where there is no light - at zeros of intensity. An

Orientation-selective elliptic optical vortex array
, 2020We propose an orientation-selective elliptic optical vortex array (OS-EOVA). Using multicoordinate (namely, polar, Cartesian, and elliptic) transformations, three kinds of operations applied on optical vortex elements (including location, rotation, and ...

Widely Tunable Optical Vortex Array Generator Based on Grid Patterned Liquid Crystal Cell
Advanced Optical Materials, 2020Since optical vortex (OV) beams possess an additional degree of freedom, orbital angular momentum, the beams can be utilized to enhance signal modulation in optical communication technologies by mode division multiplexing and information encoding.

Optical guiding of particles is traditionally associated with forces of radiation pressure, and a vast majority of optical traps are based on the ponderomotive forces. However, the developed analysis suggests an additional possibility of trapping which stems from thermal interaction of the laser-irradiated particle and environment via photophoretic ...
