Capacity of optical wireless communication channels
Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 2020Optical wireless communications are realized by modulating the intensity of a light source and detecting intensity fluctuations at the receiver. This mode of operation, known as intensity modulation and direct detection (IM/DD), is simple to implement in practice.

Optical Wireless Communication
Proceedings of the 24th Annual International Conference on Mobile Computing and Networking, 2018Data is the new currency impacting everybody's lives. As the modern world receives & sends millions of Terabytes of data every day, the present-day wireless data communication technologies comprising of Wi-Fi & 4G-LTE is on the verge of becoming partially inept for information exchange as they suffer from spectrum congestion in both controlled and ...

Optical wireless communication for backhaul and access
2015 European Conference on Optical Communication (ECOC), 2015We highlight new applications for optical wireless communication (OWC) as a mobile backhaul for WiFi, LTE and 5G and as a new access technology in the Internet of Things (IoT) where it enables secure and reliable communications at low latency.

Use Cases for Optical Wireless Communication
Optical Fiber Communication Conference, 2018We present results from trials in three promising uses cases for optical wireless communication (OWC): Mobile backhaul, industrial wireless, and indoor Li-Fi. We point out specific requirements and illustrate performance through measurements in typical scenarios.

On the capacity of indoor optical wireless communications
IEEE Communications Letters, 2006In this letter, the capacity of an optical wireless communications system in an indoor environment is investigated. We consider various modulation schemes, e.g. pulse-position modulation (L-PPM), differential pulse-position modulation (L-DPPM) and differential amplitude pulse-position modulation (AtimesL-DAPPM).

Optical wireless MIMO communications (OMIMO)
IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2004. GLOBECOM '04., 2005We propose optical wireless multiple-input multiple-output (OMIMO) communications to achieve high speed transmission with a compact transmitter and receiver. In OMIMO, by using zero forcing (ZF), we can eliminate the other signal interferences transmitted from other optical transmit antennas.
