Stray Magnetic Field Compensation with a Scalar Atomic Magnetometer

open access: yes, 2010
We describe a system for the compensation of time-dependent stray magnetic fields using a dual channel scalar magnetometer based on non-linear Faraday rotation in synchronously optically pumped Cs vapour.

Wavelength Locking of Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser in Optically Pumped Magnetometer

open access: yesShanghai Jiaotong Daxue xuebao
Aimed at the requirements of optically pumped magnetometer (OPM) for miniaturization, low power consumption and laser frequency stability, a wavelength locking control scheme for vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser is proposed.

Restoring Narrow Linewidth to a Gradient-Broadened Magnetic Resonance by Inhomogeneous Dressing

open access: yes, 2019
We study the possibility of counteracting the line-broadening of atomic magnetic resonances due to inhomogeneities of the static magnetic field by means of spatially dependent magnetic dressing, driven by an alternating field that oscillates much faster ...

Magnetic imaging with an ensemble of Nitrogen Vacancy centers in diamond

open access: yes, 2015
The nitrogen-vacancy (NV) color center in diamond is an atom-like system in the solid-state which specific spin properties can be efficiently used as a sensitive magnetic sensor.

Towards Multi-Class Optically Pumped Magnetometer-Based Brain-Computer Interfaces

open access: yesCurrent Directions in Biomedical Engineering
Magnetoencephalography (MEG) using optically pumped magnetometers (OPMs) offers several advantages over electroencephalography (EEG) and superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID)-based MEG, including improved spatial resolution and versatility.

A highly stable atomic vector magnetometer based on free spin precession

open access: yes, 2015
We present a magnetometer based on optically pumped Cs atoms that measures the magnitude and direction of a 1 $\mu$T magnetic field. Multiple circularly polarized laser beams were used to probe the free spin precession of the Cs atoms.

Microfabricated Optically-Pumped Magnetometers for Biomagnetic Applications

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2016
We report on the progress in developing microfabricated optically-pumped magnetometer arrays for imaging applications. We have improved our sensitivities by several orders of magnitude in the last ten years. Now, our zero-field magnetometers reach noise values below 15 fT/Hz1/2.
