We report on the feasibility of assessing single-grain dose-distributions by using an EMCCD-based imaging system with complementary analysis software. Automated image-processing was successfully applied to compensate sample motion and for automated grain

Combining bulk sediment OSL and meteoric 10 Be fingerprinting techniques to identify gully initiation sites and erosion depths [PDF]
Deep erosional gullies dissect landscapes around the world. Existing erosion models focus on predicting where gullies might begin to erode, but identifying where existing gullies were initiated and under what conditions is difficult, especially when ...

Palaeoenvironmental records along the eastern coast of Thailand remain sparse, with only a few studies attempting to reconstruct past climatic and environmental conditions. However, additional palaeoenvironmental, palaeoclimatic and sea‐level records are needed to improve our understanding of coastal evolution and local environmental changes.

Optically stimulated luminescence of meteorite [PDF]
Optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) measurements were performed on several meteorites and terrestrial plagioclase, pyroxene and olivine to test the possibility of OSL characterization of meteorites. Intense OSL has been observed for the first time in

The chronostratigraphy of Late Pleistocene glacial and periglacial aeolian activity in the Tuktoyaktuk Coastlands, NWT, Canada [PDF]
Aeolian periglacial sand deposits are common in the Tuktoyaktuk Coastlands of Western Arctic Canada. Regionally extensive and thick aeolian sand-sheet deposits have been observed in two major stratigraphic settings: within a sand unit characterized by ...

Thermally Transferred Optically Stimulated Luminescence, TT-OSL: a study on the responsible traps
Abstract Aim of this paper is to better investigate the Thermally Transferred Optically Stimulated Luminescence (TT-OSL) signal generated in quartz samples, both mineral quartz and quartz extracted from sediment, when they are heated after an optical bleaching. In recent years, TT-OSL has become an interesting dating technique because it

Glacial erosion during the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) has removed much evidence of earlier glaciations and interglacials in the European Alps. At Gröbminger Mitterberg (GM), beneath a blanket of LGM till, a distinctive sediment archive preserves deposits predating the LGM.

We summarize the current state of knowledge on the age of the Middle Pleistocene ice advances into northern central Europe and provide 25 new single‐grain feldspar luminescence ages of Elsterian and Saalian glacigenic sediments to constrain the age of the ice advances and their tentative correlation with marine isotope stages/substages.
