A Bandwidth Resource Orchestration Algorithm Based on Network Slicing [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji gongcheng, 2019
In order to allocate bandwidth resources efficiently in wireless virtualization environment, the bandwidth resource orchestration problem based on enhanced Mobile Broadband(eMBB) and ultra Reliable Low Latency Communication(uRLLC) is studied. For small ...

Hierarchical simultaneous upscaling of porosity and permeability features using the bandwidth of kernel function and wavelet transformation in two dimensions: Application to the SPE-10 model

open access: yesOil & Gas Science and Technology, 2021
In this paper, two methods of kernel bandwidth and wavelet transform are used for simultaneous upscaling of two features of hydrocarbon reservoir. In the bandwidth method, the criterion for upscaling is the cell variability, and by calculating the ...

Explicit MDS Codes for Optimal Repair Bandwidth [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
MDS codes are erasure-correcting codes that can correct the maximum number of erasures for a given number of redundancy or parity symbols. If an MDS code has $r$ parities and no more than $r$ erasures occur, then by transmitting all the remaining data in

Process‐Informed Analysis of As‐Built Metal Additive Surface Features

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article introduces a novel method for feature‐based surface texture characterisation directly incorporating manufacturing variables into the feature extraction workflow. This marks a major step towards identifying process‐specific surface properties and their influence on part function and hence a holistic understanding of process–structure ...

Nonparametric deconvolution problem for dependent sequences

open access: yes, 2008
We consider the nonparametric estimation of the density function of weakly and strongly dependent processes with noisy observations. We show that in the ordinary smooth case the optimal bandwidth choice can be influenced by long range dependence, as ...

Analysis of the energy harvesting performance of a piezoelectric bender outside its resonance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
When the frequency of the source of vibration of a piezolectric generator is significantly different from its eigenfrequency, the dielectric power losses become prominent and decrease the amount of power which is practically harvested.

Systematic Construction of MDS Codes with Small Sub-packetization Level and Near Optimal Repair Bandwidth

open access: yesInternational Symposium on Information Theory, 2019
In the literature, all the known high-rate MDS codes with the optimal repair bandwidth possess a significantly large sub-packetization level, which may prevent the codes to be implemented in practical systems.

A Thermodynamic 3D Model for the Simulation of Diffusion‐Controlled Alloying Processes in Heterogeneous Material Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical model resulting from irreversible thermodynamics for describing transport processes is introduced, focusing on thermodynamic activity gradients as the actual driving force for diffusion. Implemented in CUDA C++ and using CalPhaD methods for determining the necessary activity data, the model accurately simulates interdiffusion in aluminum ...

Increasing Availability in Distributed Storage Systems via Clustering

open access: yes, 2018
We introduce the Fixed Cluster Repair System (FCRS) as a novel architecture for Distributed Storage Systems (DSS), achieving a small repair bandwidth while guaranteeing a high availability.

Nonparametric Regression: Optimal Local Bandwidth Choice

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B: Statistical Methodology, 1991
SUMMARY Kernel estimators of a regression function are investigated. The bandwidths are locally chosen by a data-driven method based on the minimization of a local cross-validation criterion. This method is shown to be asymptotically optimal with respect to local quadratic measures of errors.
