This paper considers the problem faced by a seller who has a single object to sell to one of several possible buyers, when the seller has imperfect information about how much the buyers might be willing to pay for the object. The seller's problem is to design an auction game which has a Nash equilibrium giving him the highest possible expected utility.

This paper deals with obtaining optimum designs for weighing n objects in N weighings (N\(\geq n)\) on a chemical balance. For sufficiently large N satisfying \(N\equiv 2\) or 3 (mod 4), designs are given which are shown to be optimal with regards to a large class of criteria (which includes A as well as D criteria).

Optimizing Optimization for Design Optimization
Volume 2: 29th Design Automation Conference, Parts A and B, 2003Design optimization is becoming and increasingly important tool for design. In order to have an impact on the product development process it must permeate all levels of the design in such a way that a holistic view is maintained through all stages of the design.

Optimal Protein Design Procedure
Physical Review Letters, 1996We discuss a general method for protein design based on an analysis in sequence space of the Boltzmann weight for a given target structure. An efficient Monte Carlo code that explores sequence space (and, for each sequence, the space of compact and noncompact conformations) is implemented and tested in two models in two dimensions which are amenable to
