Optimal Design for Compliant Mechanism Flexure Hinges: Bridge-Type
Compliant mechanisms’ design aims to create a larger workspace and simple structural shapes because these mechanical systems usually have small dimensions, reduced friction, and less bending.

Examination of optimal performance mood status in sedentary women according to certain variables
This study investigates the Optimal Performance Mood State in sedentary women according to their behavioral change stages, perception of their health and appearance, and menstrual status. 774 sedentary women participated in the study. One-way analysis of

Optimal Dimensions of a Semisubmersible Floating Platform for a 10 MW Wind Turbine
In this paper, an optimal semisubmersible platform is sought considering two key geometry variables: the diameter of the outer cylinders and their radial distance from the platform centre.

Optimal Bounds on the VC-dimension
The VC-dimension of a set system is a way to capture its complexity and has been a key parameter studied extensively in machine learning and geometry communities. In this paper, we resolve two longstanding open problems on bounding the VC-dimension of two fundamental set systems: $k$-fold unions/intersections of half-spaces, and the simplices set ...

How many dimensions in co-optimization [PDF]
Co-optimization test-based problems is a class of tasks approached typically with coevolutionary algorithms. It was recently shown that such problems exhibit underlying objectives that form internal problem structure, which can be extracted and analyzed in order to drive the search or design better algorithms. The number of underlying objectives is the

Computing Optimal Kernels in Two Dimensions
Let $P$ be a set of $n$ points in $\Re^2$. For a parameter $\varepsilon\in (0,1)$, a subset $C\subseteq P$ is an \emph{$\varepsilon$-kernel} of $P$ if the projection of the convex hull of $C$ approximates that of $P$ within $(1-\varepsilon)$-factor in every direction.

An Optimal Unimodular Lattice in Dimension 39
By random search a self-dual \(\mathbb{Z}_4\)-code of length 39 with minimum Euclidean weight 39 was found. With construction \(A_4\) this code leads to a 39-dimensional unimodular lattice with minimum weight 4 which is optimal for this dimension.

Stress constraints applied to the optimization of a thin-walled Z-beam [PDF]
One approach to the optimization of a thin-walled open section Z-beam subjected to the bending and to the constrained torsion is considered. For given loads, material and geometrical characteristics, the problem is reduced to the determination of minimum
