Implicit Filtering and Optimal Design Problems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Implicit filtering is a form of the gradient projection method of Bertsekas in which the stepsize in a difference approximation of the gradient is changed as the iteration progresses. In this way the algorithm is able to avoid certain types of local minima and in some cases find accurate approximations to the global minimum.

Software tool for processing and selecting objects in infrared images

open access: yesСистемный анализ и прикладная информатика, 2023
The article describes the scientific problem of processing images obtained in the infrared range. Methods for filtering such images in order to reduce noise are presented. Methods for optimal smoothing are described.

Dynamic Error Correction of Filament Thermocouples with Different Structures of Junction based on Inverse Filtering Method

open access: yesMicromachines, 2019
Since filament thermocouple is limited by its junction structure and dynamic characteristics, the actual heat conduction process cannot be reproduced during the transient thermal shock.

Modified DRM+ signal generation algorithm with reduced crest factor

open access: yesФизика волновых процессов и радиотехнические системы, 2020
To reduce the crest factor in the DRM+ system due to the limitations imposed by the standard the peak limiting method (clipping) and the window weighting method, which are based on signal distortion, are widely used.

Distributed filtering for delayed nonlinear system with random sensor saturation: a dynamic event-triggered approach

open access: yesSystems Science & Control Engineering, 2021
This paper is concerned with the distributed filtering problem for a class of delayed nonlinear systems with random sensor saturation (RSS) under a dynamic event-triggered mechanism. The nonlinear function is assumed to satisfy the Lipschitz condition. A

Simultaneous Learning and Filtering without Delusions: A Bayes-Optimal Derivation of Combining Predictive Inference and AdaptiveFiltering

open access: yesFrontiers in Computational Neuroscience, 2015
Predictive coding appears to be one of the fundamental working principles of brain processing. Amongst other aspects, brains often predict the sensory consequences of their own actions. Predictive coding resembles Kalman filtering, where incoming sensory
