Compact Bacterial Foraging Optimization
Compact algorithms are Estimation of Distribution Algorithms which mimic the behavior of population-based algorithms by means of a probabilistic representation of the population of candidate solutions. Compared to an actual population, a probabilistic model requires a much smaller memory, which allows algorithms with limited memory footprint.

The bioactive substances we extracted from Lycium barbarum residue (LBR) have a typical polysaccharide structure. When 1.80% LBR was used to replace maize in the diet, the average daily gain of rossbred Simmental was significantly increased, and anti‐inflammatory ability was improved. In addition, LBR improved the fecal microbial composition, increased

Season, prey availability, sex, and age explain prey size selection in a large solitary carnivore
Prey selection is a fundamental aspect of ecology that drives evolution and community structure, yet the impact of intraspecific variation on the selection for prey size remains largely unaccounted for in ecological theory.

Stochastic Optimal Foraging Theory
30 páginas We present here the core elements of a stochastic optimal foraging theory (SOFT), essentially, a random search theory for ecologists. SOFT complements classic optimal foraging theory (OFT) in that it assumes fully uninformed searchers in an explicit space.

Bacterial Foraging Based Channel Equalizers [PDF]
A channel equalizer is one of the most important subsystems in any digital communication receiver. It is also the subsystem that consumes maximum computation time in the receiver.

A Metagenome‐Assembled Genome Catalog From the Global Ruminant Microbiomes
The Ruminant Gastrointestinal MAG Catalog (RGMC) is a comprehensive global resource offering 40,812 strain‐level genomes across 53 bacterial and 4 archaeal classes. It greatly surpasses prior efforts in scale and diversity, serving as an essential foundation for research in ruminant nutrition, microbial function, and methane mitigation.

A neural circuit for navigation inspired by C. elegans Chemotaxis [PDF]
We develop an artificial neural circuit for contour tracking and navigation inspired by the chemotaxis of the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans. In order to harness the computational advantages spiking neural networks promise over their non-spiking ...

Gastrointestinal nematode infections damage the gastrointestinal epithelial tissues of ruminants, affecting nutrient utilization and overall production performance. This review outlines host‐gastrointestinal nematode interactions and discusses integrated control strategies, including nutritional supplementation, grazing management, vaccines, and ...
