2011 Proceedings of IEEE Southeastcon, 2011This paper deals with the problem of adding and placing phasor measurement units (PMU) to achieve power system observability. A new algorithm that minimizes the number of added PMUs with minimum number of channels is proposed. The proposed algorithm is tested using different power systems.
