Optimal Pilot Symbol Power Allocation in LTE
2011 IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Fall), 2011The UMTS Long Term Evolution (LTE) allows the pilot symbol power to be adjusted with respect to that of the data symbols. Such power increase at the pilot symbols results in a more accurate channel estimate, but in turn reduces the amount of power available for the data transmission.

Optimal power allocation for cognitive relay networks
2009 International Conference on Wireless Communications & Signal Processing, 2009In this paper, we study the power allocation of suggested cognitive relay network model to minimize the system outage probability subject to total and individual power constraints for cognitive relays and subject to interference constraints for primary user nodes.

Transmitter channel tracking for optimal power allocation
2001 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing. Proceedings (Cat. No.01CH37221), 2002The design of accurate equalization schemes, optimizing the transmission strategy, can be achieved if channel status information is available not only at the receiver but also at the transmitter side. Accordingly, we propose a feasible scheme to track the channel response by the transmitter based on channel prediction, becoming a suitable solution in ...

Optimal Power Allocation Under Communication Network Externalities
IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, 2012Efficient resource allocation is an important problem that aims for a “greener” and more environmentally friendly electric power grid. The smart behavior of the newly emerged grid, combined with two-way communication between users and the operator allows for actions like measurement, monitoring, prediction, and control signaling so as to maximize ...

Optimal Power Allocation for Cooperative Spectrum Sensing
2019 IEEE International Symposium on Dynamic Spectrum Access Networks (DySPAN), 2019In this paper, we propose to optimize the power of Primary User (PU) and secondary relays R k to maximize the Detection Probability (DP). We suggest to maximize the detection probability of cooperative spectrum sensing with relay selection. One relay is chosen to amplify the PU signal to the fusion center D where spectrum sensing using the Energy ...

Optimal Power and Bit Allocation for Graph Signal Interpolation
2018 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2018We study centralized interpolation of bandlimited graph signals at a fusion center (FC), when sampled data are transmitted over rate-constrained links. In such a scenario, the performance of the reconstruction task is inevitably affected by several sources of errors such as observation noise and quantization due to source encoding.

Asymptotically optimal power allocation with MMSE receivers
International Symposium onInformation Theory, 2004. ISIT 2004. Proceedings., 2004The optimal power allocation scheme is investigated with random spreading sequences and linear MMSE receivers in the regime of large system. The main result is the identification of a power allocation and admission control scheme that maximizes the sum ...

Optimal Power Allocation for Downlink NOMA Systems
2018Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) has been recognized as a promising multi-user access technique for the next generation cellular communication networks. In this chapter, we first review the basic concepts of downlink NOMA transmission and introduce the two-user, multi-user, and multi-channel NOMA schemes.

Optimization of the regional allocation of wind power capacity
2019 International Conference on Power Generation Systems and Renewable Energy Technologies (PGSRET), 2019With the growing impact of global warming and depletion of fossil fuels, the necessity of renewable energy resources is becoming more and more obvious. However, investing in intermittent renewable resources, such as wind power, by only considering the regional power potentials jeopardizes system reliability and increases the necessity of spinning ...

Optimal Power Allocation in a Relay-aided Cognitive Network
Proceedings of the 12th EAI International Conference on Performance Evaluation Methodologies and Tools, 2019In this paper, we address a power allocation problem in a relay-aided cognitive network. The network is composed by a primary and secondary user/destination pair and a relay, which helps the communication between the secondary user and its destination.
