Finite Horizon Online Lazy Scheduling with Energy Harvesting Transmitters over Fading Channels [PDF]
Lazy scheduling, i.e. setting transmit power and rate in response to data traffic as low as possible so as to satisfy delay constraints, is a known method for energy efficient transmission. This paper addresses an online lazy scheduling problem over ...

This article provides an optimal job scheduling algorithm that assigns sets of jobs (plans) to workers. Each job has a rank and each worker has a prescribed function returning the time the worker needs to complete a job. The jobs have to be completed within a given period of time. The assignment of plans maximizes the sum of ranks of the completed jobs.

Optimizing the Cost-Performance Tradeoff for Coflows Across Geo-Distributed Datacenters
For data analytics jobs running across geographically distributed datacenters, coflows have to go through the inter-datacenter network over relatively low bandwidth and high cost links. In this case, optimizing cost-performance tradeoffs for such coflows

The synthesis of a hardware scheduler for Non-Manifest Loops [PDF]
This paper addresses the hardware implementation of a dynamic scheduler for non-manifest data dependent periodic loops. Static scheduling techniques which are known to give near optimal scheduling-solutions for manifest loops, fail at scheduling non ...

Decentralized Greedy-Based Algorithm for Smart Energy Management in Plug-in Electric Vehicle Energy Distribution Systems [PDF]
Variations in electricity tariffs arising due to stochastic demand loads on the power grids have stimulated research in finding optimal charging/discharging scheduling solutions for electric vehicles (EVs). Most of the current EV scheduling solutions are
