Series Solution of Discrete Time Stochastic Optimal Control Problems [PDF]
In this paper we consider discrete time stochastic optimal control problems over infinite and finite time horizons. We show that for a large class of such problems the Taylor polynomials of the solutions to the associated Dynamic Programming Equations ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

A Discrete Event Formulation for Multi-Robot Collision Avoidance on Pre-Planned Trajectories
In this paper we consider the problem of collision avoidance among robots that follow pre-planned trajectories in a structured environment while minimizing the maximum traveling time among them. More precisely, we consider a discrete event formulation of

Calculating the main canals [PDF]
In the proposed method hydraulic design of the main canal is combined with the selection of optimal solution. As a goal function it was accepted the dependence, minimizing the amount of excavation and concrete works on the establishing the canal.

Structural approach to unambiguous discrimination of two mixed quantum states
We analyze the optimal unambiguous discrimination of two arbitrary mixed quantum states. We show that the optimal measurement is unique and we present this optimal measurement for the case where the rank of the density operator of one of the states is at

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Connections between Some Extremization Problems and Associated Inequalities
In this paper, we investigate and characterize a family of optimization problems introduced by interval-valued functionals that are determined by curvilinear integrals.

Optimizing Movement for Maximizing Lifetime of Mobile Sensors for Covering Targets on a Line
Given a set of sensors distributed on the plane and a set of Point of Interests (POIs) on a line segment, a primary task of the mobile wireless sensor network is to schedule covering the POIs by the sensors, such that each POI is monitored by at least ...
