A basic closed semialgebraic subset of $\mathbb{R}^{n}$ is defined by simultaneous polynomial inequalities $p_{1}\geq 0,\ldots,p_{m}\geq 0$. We consider Lasserre's relaxation hierarchy to solve the problem of minimizing a polynomial over such a set ...

A Pseudospectral Approach to High Index DAE Optimal Control Problems [PDF]
Historically, solving optimal control problems with high index differential algebraic equations (DAEs) has been considered extremely hard. Computational experience with Runge-Kutta (RK) methods confirms the difficulties.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Optimal control for a higher-order nonlinear parabolic equation describing crystal surface growth
In this paper, we shall study the optimal control of the initial-boundary value problem of a higher-order nonlinear parabolic equation describing crystal surface growth. The existence and uniqueness of weak solutions to the problem are given.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Quick Prediction of Maximum APF for Inverter Air Conditioners
As annual performance factor (APF) becomes the energy efficiency index of inverter air conditioners, the amount of working conditions to be tested for each air conditioner has greatly increased from one to five, which means that experiment-based ...
