Optimality Conditions for Vector Optimization Problems

Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications, 2009
The paper considers vector optimization problems (VOP) of the form \[ \min F(x) \text{ subject to } u_i(x) \leq 0, i\in\{1, \dots, m\}; v_j(x) =0, j\in\{1, \dots, n\}, \] where \(F:X \rightarrow \mathbb{R}^L\) and \(u_i, v_j: X\rightarrow \mathbb{R}\) and \(X\) is a Banach space.

Optimal Conditioning of Matrices

SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, 1973
The optimal condition number c of a matrix S is the minimum, over all diagonal matrices D, of $\| {DS} \|\| {(DS)^{ - 1} } \|$. It arises in many applications of scaling in linear systems, and has been computed in the maximum norm by Bauer. In the $\ell _2 $-norm, we establish the inequalities $b \leqq c \leqq 2b$ and disprove—by an example of order ...

On optimality conditions for cone-constrained optimization

Proceedings of the 41st IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2002., 2003
We consider feasible sets given by conic constraints, where the cone defining the constraints is convex with nonempty interior. We study the case where the feasible set is not assumed to be regular in the classical sense of Robinson and obtain a constructive description of the tangent cone under a certain new second-order regularity condition.

Some Optimality Conditions in Vector Optimization

Journal of Information and Optimization Sciences, 1989
Abstract In this paper, by means of a theorem of the alternative for generalized systems, weak alternative is introduced and some necessary and/or sufficient optimality conditions such as a generalized saddle-point condition is deduced; a simple proof of the Fritz John conditions for multiobjective functions is given.

On Optimality Conditions in Quasidifferentiable Optimization

SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 1984
The paper is concerned with a class of quasidifferentiable functions in the sense of \textit{V. F. Demyanov} and \textit{A. M. Rubinov} [Dokl. Akad. Nauk SSSR 250, 21-25 (Russian) (1980; Zbl 0456.49016)]. Such functions are directionally differentiable and their directional derivatives are representable as a difference of two sublinear functions.
