Optimizing microservices with hyperparameter optimization
In the last few years, the cloudification of applications requires new concepts and techniques to fully reap the benefits of the new computing paradigm. Among them, the microservices architectural style, which is inspired by service-oriented architectures, has gained attention from both industry and academia.

Constrained ear decompositions in graphs and digraphs [PDF]
Ear decompositions of graphs are a standard concept related to several major problems in graph theory like the Traveling Salesman Problem. For example, the Hamiltonian Cycle Problem, which is notoriously N P-complete, is equivalent to deciding whether a ...

Optimal Solvers for PDE-Constrained Optimization [PDF]
Optimization problems with constraints which require the solution of a partial differential equation arise widely in many areas of the sciences and engineering, in particular in problems of design. The solution of such PDE-constrained optimization problems is usually a major computational task.

Multicriteria Optimization in a Typical Multi-Isle Warehouse with Multiple Racks [PDF]
14 páginasThis paper considers two common problems frequently found in warehouses: slotting and picking. The former refers to the best arrangement of items in the warehouse, while the latter concerns the definition of the best route to pick up the ...

Development of spatially variant photonic crystals to control light in the near-infrared spectrum
Spatially Variant Photonic Crystals (SVPCs) have shown the ability to control the propagation and direction of light in the near-infrared spectrum. Using a novel approach for simplified modeling and fabrication techniques, we designed unique, spatially ...

Optimal growth and Pareto optimality [PDF]
Using the McKenzie-Montrucchio approach to optimal growth problems the authors show that in a stationary intertemporal economy with discrete infinite time span and recursive utilities for each of a finite numbers of agents, every Pareto optimum solution is a solution to a generalized McKenzie problem.
