Uncovering G Protein‐Coupled Receptors: Novel Targets and Biomarkers for Predicting Glioma Prognosis
ABSTRACT Background Low‐grade gliomas (LGG) exhibit significant heterogeneity and recurrence risk. G protein‐coupled receptors (GPCR) contribute to glioma malignant progression, but their prognostic value remains unclear. This work attempts to formulate a GPCR‐based outcome‐predicting model for LGG. Methods Based on TCGA LGG data, the enrichment scores

A Two‐Stage Questionnaire and Actigraphy Screening for iRBD in a Multicenter Retrospective Cohort
ABSTRACT Objective Isolated rapid‐eye‐movement sleep behavior disorder is a prodromal marker of synucleinopathies. However, most cases remain undiagnosed due to the insufficient predictive value of questionnaires and limited access to confirmatory video‐polysomnography. We assessed a two‐stage screening strategy combining a brief questionnaire on rapid‐

ABSTRACT Objectives We aimed to determine the frequency of subclinical optic nerve (ON) lesions using MRI, optical coherence tomography (OCT), and visual evoked potentials (VEP) in radiologically isolated syndrome (RIS), and to assess their diagnostic and prognostic significance.

A SIMPLE METHOD FOR OPTIMIZATION
Kybernetes, 1983Many biological systems give rise to optimization problems (for instance, when we have to identify the model or control of the system). Here, we propose a very simple method to find the extremum of a n‐variables function. This technique leads to the optimization of a one‐variable function.

Sequential Optimization Methods
2009Although controller devices highly improve the seismic performance of civil structures, they usually incur enormous financial costs. A variety of sequential methods for minimizing the cost function have been proposed in the literature. In most of these methods, the control system is optimally designed after the best structural configuration is provided.

Multilevel Optimized Schwarz Methods
SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing, 2020This paper defines a two-level optimized Schwarz method (OSM) for elliptic partial differential equations, which solves the coarse space problem on a coarse mesh. A local mode convergence analysis is given both for overlapping and nonoverlapping decompositions, which also suggests how to choose the optimized transmission conditions.

Many areas of systems deal with sets of nonlinear functions that can be handled more effectively if proper scaling is performed. When working with m functions and n variables, (m + n) scaling factors are used. A variety of approaches to scaling are reviewed. A method for establishing a scaling array for nonlinear functions is given.

The Optimality of the Centroid Method
Psychometrika, 2003The aim of this note is to show that the centroid method has two optimality properties. It yields loadings with the highest sum of absolute values, even in absence of the constraint that the squared component weights be equal. In addition, it yields scores with maximum variance, subject to the constraint that none of the squared component weights be ...
