This study explores the distinct molecular mechanisms underlying Lynch syndrome‐associated and sporadic colorectal cancer (CRC). By highlighting the therapeutic potential of targeting the PI3K‐Akt pathway in Lynch syndrome‐associated CRC and the Wnt pathway in sporadic CRC, the findings open avenues for personalised treatment strategies, aiming to ...

We use Lie symmetry methods to price certain types of barrier options. Usually Lie symmetry methods cannot be used to solve the Black-Scholes equation for options because the function defining the maturity condition for an option is not smooth. However, for barrier options, this restriction can be accommodated and a symmetry analysis utilised to find ...

Immunoregulatory mechanisms of the arachidonic acid pathway in cancer
The central role of the arachidonic acid (AA) pathway in anticancer immunity. Enzymes and metabolites of the AA pathway can play both immunosuppressive and immunostimulatory roles in the tumor microenvironment. Therefore, their tailored targeting could be beneficial as a standalone therapy or in combination with current cancer immunotherapy.

Making tau amyloid models in vitro: a crucial and underestimated challenge
This review highlights the challenges of producing in vitro amyloid assemblies of the tau protein. We review how accurately the existing protocols mimic tau deposits found in the brain of patients affected with tauopathies. We discuss the important properties that should be considered when forming amyloids and the benchmarks that should be used to ...

Unraveling Mycobacterium tuberculosis acid resistance and pH homeostasis mechanisms
Mycobacterium tuberculosis exhibits a remarkable resilience to acid stress. In this Review, we discuss some of the molecular mechanisms and metabolic pathways used by the tubercle bacilli to adapt and resist host‐mediated acid stress. Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) is a successful pathogen that has developed a variety of strategies to survive and ...

Option prices with call prices [PDF]
There exist several methods how more general options can be priced with call prices. In this article, we extend these results to cover a wider class of options and market models. In particular, we introduce a new pricing formula which can be used to price more general options if prices for call options and digital options are known for every strike ...

The S1025 peptide is the major antidote to the YrzI toxin, which we renamed here as SpyT (Small Peptide YrzI Toxin) and SpyA (Small Peptide YrzI Antitoxin) (1). Degradation of the toxin–antitoxin spyTA mRNA, either by a translation‐dependent cleavage by the endoribonuclease Rae1 (2) or by direct attack by 3′‐exoribonucleases (3), also contributes to ...

Valuing the quality option in agricultural commodity futures: a Monte Carlo simulation based approach [PDF]
Agricultural commodity futures are often settled by delivery. Quality options that allow the futures short to deliver one of several underlying assets are commonly used in such contracts to prevent manipulation. Inclusion of these options reduces the price of the futures contract and leads to degraded contract hedging performance.
