Practicality of physical recycling method for waste polymer composites exampled via high density polyethylene/automobile shredder residue composites

open access: yesEngineering Reports, 2023
With the booming of automobiles industry, the recycling of automobile shredder residue (ASR) with complicated constitutes gradually become an urgent issues owing to its difficulty for traditional recycling.

RELAP4 stagnation properties option. [PWR] [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
The stagnation properties option in RELAP4/MOD6 was completely reviewed, from theoretical foundation to code application. The result of this investigation was the identification of a fundamental mismatch between the essentially homogeneous, equilibrium-based, RELAP4 code and the nonhomogeneous and/or nonequilibrium critical flow models imposed on the ...

Modelling optional infinitive phenomena: A computational account of tense optionality in children’s speech [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The Optional Infinitive hypothesis proposed by Wexler (1994) is a theory of children’s early grammatical development that can be used to explain a variety of phenomena in children’s early multi-word speech.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

An essay on the general theory of stochastic processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This text is a survey of the general theory of stochastic processes, with a view towards random times and enlargements of filtrations. The first five chapters present standard materials, which were developed by the French probability school and which are

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Enhanced CT Textures Derived From Computer Mathematic Distribution Analysis Enables Arterial Enhancement Fraction Being an Imaging Biomarker Option of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2020
Purpose: This study aims to explore the imaging–clinic relationship and an optional imaging biomarker of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) by using texture analysis on arterial enhancement fraction (AEF).Materials and Methods: The HCC patients treated in No.

Is use of optional attributes and associations in conceptual modeling always problematic? Theory and empirical tests [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Prior research has argued that use of optional properties in conceptual models results in loss of information about the semantics of the domains represented by the models. Empirical research undertaken to date supports this argument.

Thermomechanical Fatigue and Creep–Fatigue Interaction of Inconel 718 Additively Manufactured by Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated
