Optimal optoacoustic detector design

Applied Optics, 1975
Optoacoustic detectors are used to measure pressure changes occurring in enclosed gases, liquids, or solids being excited by intensity or frequency modulated electromagnetic radiation. Radiation absorption spectra, collisional relaxation rates, substance compositions, and reactions can be determined from the time behavior of these pressure changes ...

[Optoacoustic imaging].

Der Radiologe, 2016
Imaging modalities play an increasing role in today's medical diagnostics. Among them, ultrasound (US) is one the most widespread techniques although it has relatively poor soft tissue contrast. Furthermore, US is poorly suited as a modality for molecular imaging (MI).Methods such as Doppler and contrast-enhanced US (CEUS) allow functional imaging of ...

Image Reconstruction in Optoacoustics.

2015
This thesis investigates reconstruction techniques for optoacoustic (oa) imaging, implemented both in pulsed and continuous wave (cw) mode. Two approaches to incorporate the transducer geometry into model-based reconstruction are implemented and its benefits showcased in simulations and experiments.
