Optoelectronic intelligence [PDF]
General intelligence involves the integration of many sources of information into a coherent, adaptive model of the world. To design and construct hardware for general intelligence, we must consider principles of both neuroscience and very-large-scale integration. For large neural systems capable of general intelligence, the attributes of photonics for

Controllable synthesis and optoelectronic applications of wafer-scale MoS2 films
The chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method is widely used for synthesizing two-dimensional (2D) materials such as molybdenum disulfide (MoS _2 ) because of the process’ simplicity, relatively low cost, compatibility with other process, and tendency to ...

Obtaining an Operating Point Solution of a Traveling Wave Laser Model
This paper presents a method of obtaining an operating point configuration for a laser model based on a traveling wave model (TWM), which can then be used in a circuit-level simulator.

Optoelectronic Nanodevices [PDF]
Over the last decade, novel materials such as graphene derivatives, transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), other two-dimensional (2D) layered materials, perovskites, as well as metal oxides and other metal nanostructures have centralized the interest of the scientific community [...]

Toward laser-induced tuning of plasmonic response in high aspect ratio gold nanostructures
High aspect-ratio gold nanostructures sustain Fabry–Perot-like surface plasmon responses from infrared to visible light energies. We show that some resonances can be tuned by means of laser irradiation, where low energy modes stay unperturbed.

Optoelectronic Reservoir Computing [PDF]
Reservoir computing is a recently introduced, highly efficient bio-inspired approach for processing time dependent data. The basic scheme of reservoir computing consists of a non linear recurrent dynamical system coupled to a single input layer and a single output layer. Within these constraints many implementations are possible. Here we report an opto-

Dark and Bright Excitons in Halide Perovskite Nanoplatelets
Semiconductor nanoplatelets (NPLs), with their large exciton binding energy, narrow photoluminescence (PL), and absence of dielectric screening for photons emitted normal to the NPL surface, could be expected to become the fastest luminophores amongst ...
