Cavity optomechanics in gallium phosphide microdisks

open access: yes, 2014
We demonstrate gallium phosphide (GaP) microdisk optical cavities with intrinsic quality factors $ > 2.8\times10^{5}$ and mode volumes $< 10 (\lambda/n)^3$, and study their nonlinear and optomechanical properties.

Quantitative Mapping of Fibrotic Tissue Mechanics via Brillouin Spectroscopy

open access: yesJournal of Biophotonics, Volume 19, Issue 3, March 2026.
Brillouin spectroscopy distinguishes fibrotic from healthy tissue based on localized stiffness changes and enables real‐time monitoring of dynamic alterations in viscoelastic properties during fibrogenesis.ABSTRACTFibrosis is a pathological scarring process that disrupts tissue architecture, and is characterized by excessive extracellular matrix (ECM ...

NIR‐Triggered Upconversion‐Perovskite Heterostructures for Non‐Genetic, Implant‐Free Optoelectronic Neuromodulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 8, 9 February 2026.
The Single‐Nanostructured Optoelectronic Vehicle for neuromodulation Activation (SNOVA) establishes a paradigm for non‐genetic, implant‐free neuromodulation. By integrating NIR‐excitable UCNPs with broadband‐absorbing perovskite QDs, SNOVA efficiently converts deeply penetrating light into localized electric fields that modulate neuronal ion dynamics ...

Higher-order sidebands in optomechanically induced transparency

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 2012
Higher-order sidebands in optomechanically induced transparency are discussed in a generic optomechanical system. We take account of nonlinear terms and give an effective method to deal with such problems. It is shown that, if a strong control field with frequency ${\ensuremath{\omega}}_{1}$ and a weak probe field with frequency ${\ensuremath{\omega}}_{

Empowering Flexible Electronics with Piezoelectric Nanogenerators: Breakthroughs from Energy Harvesting to Intelligent Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 7, 3 February 2026.
This review systematically summarizes recent advances in self‐powered flexible sensing and energy storage systems based on piezoelectric nanogenerators (PENGs). It highlights their fundamental mechanisms, structural designs, and applications in health monitoring, e‐skin, and tactile sensing. The integration of PENGs with supercapacitors or batteries is

Mechanochromic Organic Materials: Molecular Mechanisms and Multidimensional Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, Volume 5, Issue 2, February 2026.
Mechanochromic (MC) organic materials change color in response to mechanical force. This review elucidates the molecular mechanisms (e.g., aggregation‐induced emission, AIE) and explores their multidimensional applications in sensors, anti‐counterfeiting, biomedical devices, and structural health monitoring, providing a roadmap for future smart ...

Viscoelastic Testing for Coagulation Management in Vascular Surgery—A Narrative Review

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Viscoelastic testing (VET) has been increasingly used in cardiac, trauma, and hepatic surgery where it helps tackle the development of complex coagulopathies. Despite this, data on using VETs in vascular surgery remains limited to small and non‐randomised control studies. Although the improvement in vascular techniques has decreased

Optomechanically induced transparency in a spinning resonator

open access: yesPhotonics Research, 2017
We study optomechanically induced transparency in a spinning microresonator. We find that in the presence of rotation-induced Sagnac frequency shift, both the transmission rate and the group delay of the signal are strongly affected, leading to a Fano-like spectrum of transparency.
