A new type of comb pilot in FBMC/OQAM
2018 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC), 2018Scattered pilot-aided channel estimation in offset QAM-based filter bank multicarrier (FBMC/OQAM) systems has so far been only considered for slow fading channels. In more demanding scenarios, the classical auxiliary pilot (AP) idea has been shown to result a severe error.

An efficient FTN implementation of the OFDM/OQAM system
2015 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2015In this paper, we propose an implementation method for Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing Offset Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (OFDM/OQAM) with Faster-Than-Nyquist (FTN) signaling. The proposed scheme can bring several advantages: 1) it approaches the theoretical rate gain of FTN signaling; 2) it can flexibly switch between Nyquist and FTN ...

Application of OQAM/OFDM Modulation in Troposcatter Communication
Proceedings of the Fifth International Conference on Network, Communication and Computing, 2016OFDM, as a efficient modulation, has been chosen to improve performance of the multipath fading channel in troposcatter communication. However the drawbacks of conventional OFDM, such as bad localization in time and frequency, spectrum efficiency reduction and power loss due to insertion of CP, are not easy to undervalue.

An Analysis of the EIC Method for OFDM/OQAM Systems
Journal of Communications, 2009OFDM/OQAM is a multi-carrier modulation scheme that, differently from conventional OFDM, does not require any guard interval. Indeed, the interference that results from a transmission over time and/or frequency selective channels can be partly contained if the pulse shape has been appropriately selected.

Frequency-spreading implementation of OFDM/OQAM systems
2012 International Symposium on Wireless Communication Systems (ISWCS), 2012The paper aims at considering an alternative structure for transmitter and receiver in OFDM/OQAM systems. Such a structure is based on the frequency spreading at the transmitter and on the frequency despreading at the receiver and it is considered with reference to its implementation complexity.

Wireless OFDM-OQAM with a Small Number of Subcarriers
2008 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference, 2008Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing based on offset quadrature amplitude modulation (OFDM-OQAM) is a multicarrier signaling technique which trades off robustness for spectral efficiency when compared to conventional OFDM with a cyclic prefix. In this paper, a novel matrix model for passband OFDM-OQAM signaling with a small number of subcarriers ...

Enabling Low-Complexity MIMO in FBMC-OQAM
2016 IEEE Globecom Workshops (GC Wkshps), 2016Filter Bank Multi-Carrier (FBMC) offers superior spectral properties compared to Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), at the cost of imaginary interference, which makes the application of Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output (MIMO) more challenging.

Efficient multitap equalization for FBMC‐OQAM systems
Transactions on Emerging Telecommunications Technologies, 2019AbstractThis work provides a simple yet efficient multitap equalization structure for filter bank multicarrier systems, which is a candidate waveform for the next generation (5G) of mobile communication systems. More specifically, we analyze the system performance under medium‐ to high‐frequency selective channels.

A suboptimal power allocation algorithm for FBMC/OQAM
2012 IEEE 13th International Workshop on Signal Processing Advances in Wireless Communications (SPAWC), 2012This paper tackles the sum-rate maximization in FBMC systems. It is well-known that multipath fading destroys the orthogonality of the subcarriers, which brings a non-convex problem that can be interpreted as the maximization of a difference of concave functions.

Semiblind Channel Estimation for OFDM/OQAM Systems
IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2015In this letter, we propose a semiblind channel estimation technique for OFDM/OQAM wireless systems. The proposed technique exploits the real property of transmitted symbols to blindly identify the channel-induced rotation in the received signal, thereby reducing the pilot overhead for estimation purpose.
