Start, Stop, Rewind, Repeat—Cyclic Exposure of Adipose Stromal Cells‐derived Cartilage Organoids to Chondrogenic and Proliferative Cues to Achieve Scaled‐up and Customizable Bone Formation by Endochondral Ossification

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study exploits the plasticity of ASCs‐derived cartilage organoids which generate a perichondrial layer of MSCs when exposed to cyclic chondrogenic/proliferative cues. Using these organoids as building blocks, we develop (i) Phalange Shaped Tissue Engineered Cartilage (Pa‐TECs), recapitulating endochondral ossification suitable for the treatment of

Dedifferentiated Low-Grade Central Osteosarcoma of the Mandible

open access: yesCase Reports in Dentistry, 2022
We present the first, to our knowledge, case of a dedifferentiated low-grade central osteosarcoma (LCOS) of the mandible. A 48-year-old Japanese woman underwent enucleation under general anesthesia after a diagnosis of ossifying fibroma.

Retinoic Acid Reprograms Mast Cells Toward a Proinflammatory State to Enhance Antitumor Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Proinflammatory mast cells represent an MHC‐IIhigh, cytokine‐producing mast cell subset associated with improved survival and enhanced responses to anti‐PD‐1 therapy. Retinoic acid drives their polarization, enabling antigen uptake and presentation, and T cell recruitment and activation, collectively promoting adaptive anti‐tumor immunity.

A Case of a Huge Granulomatous Epulis in the Mandibular Alveolar Region

open access: yesCase Reports in Dentistry
Epulis is a general diagnostic term for benign localized tumors that occur in the gingiva. Clinical diagnosis is usually straightforward based on the location and morphology of the lesion; however, large lesions may mimic malignancy.

Osteoclast‐Derived SLIT3 Mediates Osteoarthritis Pain and Degenerative Changes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In TMJ‐OA, osteoclasts play a significant role in promoting the growth of sensory nerves at the osteochondral interface. In early OA, TRAP+ osteoclast‐derived SLIT3 induces sensory nerve growth into the condylar cartilage. This nerve growth facilitates the development of pain associated with OA.
