Abstract There is an increasing role for knowledgeable dentists in the management of sleep-related breathing disorders, in particular, the use of oral appliance therapy (OAT) to manage obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). These appliances alter upper airway shape size and dynamics through a variety of anatomical modifications.
