Mucormycosis of the Oral Mucosa
Archives of Dermatology, 1964A case of mucormycosis essentially localized to the mucosa of the palate and contiguous tissues has been reported in a 40-year-old diabetic female. Palatal bone had undergone necrosis, and maxillary sinus mucosa was also involved with lesions of mucormycosis.

Melanoacanthoma of the oral mucosa
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1981Abstract The melanoacanthoma is a benign tumor consisting of proliferating keratinocytes and melanocytes. The literature contains reports of only twenty cases, none of them intraoral. We report a case of a melanoacanthoma in the buccal mucosa of a 9-year-old black girl.

An extremely high incidence of leukoedema of the oral mucosa was found clinically in this study of 430 patients. Leukoedema on the buccal mucosa was clinically observed in 400 patients, and also on the labial mucosa in 131 patients. In most patients buccal involvement was bilateral.

Summary. A livid, sharply defined enanthema of the oral mucosa with ulcerations on the soft palate in a patient presenting with de novo acute myeloid leukaemia with prolonged, therapy‐induced granulocytopenia (lt 0.5 nl‐1 for 113 days!) was diagnosed as geotrichosis. Geotrichum capitatum was identified both in vivo and in vitro.
