Biomaterials for Reconstructive Treatment of Peri‐Implantitis

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
Reconstructive therapy should be implemented in contained defects. Various bone filler materials with or without a barrier membrane and/or adjunctive biologics may be applied. ABSTRACT Peri‐implantitis is a pathological condition affecting the tissues surrounding dental implants, marked by inflammation of the peri‐implant connective tissue and ...

Peri‐Implantitis and Soft Tissue Dehiscence in a Turkish Population: Risk Indicators, Diagnostic Parameters and Biomarkers Discovery

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
In this Turkish cohort, several risk indicators were identified for peri‐implantitis and peri‐implant soft‐tissue dehiscence. Several PICF immunological markers, particularly IL‐8 and TNF‐α, showed promising diagnostic potential for peri‐implantitis.

Soft‐Tissue Phenotype Modification as an Adjunct to the Treatment of Peri‐Implant Mucositis—A Quasi‐Randomized Clinical Trial

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
This study showed that soft‐tissue phenotype modification provides additional benefits beyond non‐surgical therapy in managing peri‐implant mucositis. Notably, the effects on peri‐implant health were not mediated by improved plaque control. ABSTRACT Aim This quasi‐randomized clinical trial evaluated the additional benefit of soft‐tissue phenotype ...

Role of Keratinized Mucosa on the Risk of Peri‐Implant Diseases and Soft Tissue Dehiscence in the Posterior Mandible—A 20‐Year Prospective Cohort Study

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
The application of an FGG at tissue level implants in the posterior mandible had a positive effect on clinical and radiographic outcomes and peri‐implant conditions after 20 years of function. ABSTRACT Aim To evaluate the 20‐year outcomes of tissue‐level implants placed in the posterior mandible, comparing implants surrounded by keratinized tissue (KT)
