Amuc_1473 Links Gut Microbes to Skeletal Homeostasis and Counteracts Multifactorial Osteoporosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Amuc_1473, a previously uncharacterized protein enriched in Akkermansia muciniphila‐derived extracellular vesicles, is identified as a gut–bone messenger that promotes osteogenesis and inhibits osteoclastogenesis by engaging transcriptional and translational regulators in bone cells.

A Unique Comparison of Tooth Extraction Before and After Emicizumab Prophylaxis in a Patient With Haemophilia A and Inhibitors

open access: yesCase Reports in Dentistry
Haemophilia A is an inherited X-linked bleeding disorder caused by Factor VIII deficiency; approximately 30% of the patients with haemophilia A develop inhibitors against Factor VIII.

BIN1 and ALDH1B1 Deficiency in Colonic Smooth Muscle Drives Mitochondrial Dysfunction and Fibrosis in Slow‐Transit Constipation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Slow‐transit constipation (STC) is a disabling motility disorder with unclear smooth‐muscle mechanisms. Spatial proteomic analysis of STC patient colon reveals both the central pathogenic role of smooth muscle cells (SMCs) in STC and novel regulators of intestinal motility, BIN1 and ALDH1B1.

Engineering Microbial Particles for Next‐Generation Biomedical Platforms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Microbe‐derived particles (MDPs), which include extracellular vesicles, outer membrane vesicles, inclusion bodies, polysaccharide particles, and virus‐like particles, represent a rapidly expanding category of bioinspired nanomaterials. With their natural origin, intrinsic biocompatibility, and highly programmable functionality, MDPs serve as a ...

A Cone Bean Computer Tomography Investigation of the Newly Formed Mandibular Anterior Ridge following the Treatment of an Extended Comminuted Fracture: A 12-Year Follow-Up

open access: yesCase Reports in Dentistry
Introduction. Extensive comminuted fractures are associated with tooth loss that ultimately leads to dimensional changes in the hard and soft tissues of the alveolar ridge.

A Biomimetic Lubricant Captures Hyaluronic Acid In Situ to Regenerate Cartilage: From Bench to Bedside

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
(a) The outstanding lubricative properties of natural articular cartilage arise from a composite coating composed of HA, lubricin, and phospholipids at its surface. Notably, lubricin facilitates the enrichment of synovial HA onto cartilage surfaces, and HA complexes with phospholipids, a key component to maintain extremely low friction under high ...

A Case of Extensive Maxillary Medication-Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw With Wound Closure Using a Pedicled Buccal Fat Pad

open access: yesCase Reports in Dentistry
Reports of extensive medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) with pedicled buccal fat pad wound closure without tissue reconstruction are rare. We present the case of a 78-year-old man with prostate cancer and extensive MRONJ on the left side

Inhibition of Focal Adhesion Restricts Chemoresistance in Pancreatic Cancer by Targeting SLC7A11 Mediated Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FAK signaling drives chemoresistance and tumor evolution in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. The FAK inhibitor IN10018 restores gemcitabine sensitivity by inducing SLC7A11‐mediated ferroptosis through the PI3K‐Akt pathway and remodeling the tumor microenvironment, reducing mesenchymal components while enhancing CD8+ T‐cell infiltration in preclinical ...

Iatrogenic osteomyelitis in patients with florid cemento-osseous dysplasia: an illustrative case report

open access: yesJournal of Oral Medicine and Oral Surgery
Introduction: Cemento-osseous dysplasia (COD) is a benign fibro-osseous lesion of the jaws, often asymptomatic but potentially complicated by secondary infection due to its hypovascular nature.

ACLY‐Driven Metabolic Reprogramming Promotes Histone Acetylation and Inflammation‐Associated Fibrosis in Chronic Kidney Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals a citrate–ACLY–H3K27ac metabolic–epigenetic axis driving inflammatory gene activation and kidney fibrosis, highlighting ACLY inhibition as a potential therapeutic strategy for chronic kidney disease (CKD). ABSTRACT The mechanisms by which metabolic stress drives epigenetic dysregulation and fibrosis in chronic kidney disease (CKD ...
