In Situ Mapping of Phase Evolutions in Rapidly Heated Zr-Based Bulk Metallic Glass with Oxygen Impurities. [PDF]
Oxygen impurities impact on phase‐transformations during rapid heating of Zr‐based metallic glass Zr59.3Cu28.8Al10.4Nb1.5 is thoroughly investigated using a multi‐technique approach. During devitrification, the extracted phase evolutions reveal that the phase fraction hierarchy correlates with the oxygen impurity concentration.

The proposal of biotic hazard zones in selected spruce dominated regions in Slovakia
Biotic agents driven spruce decline has been observed over several regions in Europe. We studied the spatial pattern of spruce stands mortality due to biotic agents in three spruce dominated regions in Slovakia - the Kysuce, Orava and Low Tatras regions.

Evolution and maintenance of microbe‐mediated protection under occasional pathogen infection
Microbe‐mediated protection is evolved even under rare pathogen infection. This evolution is independent of initial pathogen presence and the interval of pathogen infection. Abstract Every host is colonized by a variety of microbes, some of which can protect their hosts from pathogen infection.

Long-range potential and the fine structure of the diffraction peak [PDF]
The possibility of oscillations in the differential elastic cross section of hadron scattering at small momentum transfer is studied. It is shown that string-like quark potentials at large distances can lead to such small oscillations, and an analysis of

Fragile-to-Strong Crossover in Supercooled Liquid Ag-In-Sb-Te Studied by Ultrafast Calorimetry [PDF]
Phase-change random-access memory relies on the reversible crystalline-glassy phase change in chalcogenide thin films. In this application, the speed of crystallization is critical for device performance: there is a need to combine ultrafast ...

Central jet production as a probe of the perturbative formalism for exclusive diffraction [PDF]
We propose a new variable, R_j, in order to identify exclusive double-diffractive high E_T dijet production. The variable R_j is calculated using the transverse energy E_T and pseudorapidity of the jet with the largest E_T.

Hunting a light CP-violating Higgs via diffraction at the LHC [PDF]
We study the central diffractive production of the (three neutral) Higgs bosons, with a rapidity gap on either side, in an MSSM scenario with CP-violation. We consider the bb-bar and tautau-bar decay for the light H_1 boson and the four b-jet final state

Abstract The deep-water clastic systems of the Central Carpathian Paleogene Basin contain megabeds, which are developed in distinctive stratigraphic horizons and can be traced over long distances. These beds are characterized by great individual thickness (4-13 m), uniform lithology and internal structures.

Diffractive dissociation in proton-nucleus collisions at collider energies
The cross section for the nuclear diffractive dissociation in proton-lead collisions at the LHC is estimated. Based on the current theoretical uncertainties for the single (target) diffactive cross section in hadron-hadron reactions one obtains sigma_SD ...
