NASA GSFC Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) Orbit Estimation and Prediction
SpaceOps 2010 Conference, 2010This paper details the upgrades performed and also provides an overview of the performance of these upgrades during the actual support of the mission. Also presented are details of the integration of the software tools and automation implemented, including an overview of the integration of government legacy orbit estimation tools and automation with ...

An analytic orbit prediction program generator
Journal of Guidance, Control, and Dynamics, 1983An ephemeris program generator is designed to automatically construct compact efficient ephemeris programs tailored specifically for tasks encountered in online real-time computing environments. For portability the ephemeris programs are written in standard FORTRAN IV.

Accurate orbit predictions for debris orbit manoeuvre using ground-based lasers
Advances in Space Research, 2013Abstract Orbit manoeuvre of low Earth orbiting (LEO) debris using ground-based lasers has been proposed as a cost-effective means to avoid debris collisions. This requires the orbit of the debris object to be determined and predicted accurately so that the laser beam can be locked on the debris without the loss of valuable laser operation time.

Predicting galactic orbits with deep learning

Analytical representations of precise orbit predictions for Earth orbiting space objects
Advances in Space Research, 2017Abstract Accurate orbits of Earth orbiting space objects are usually generated from an orbit determination/prediction process using numerical integrators, and presented to users in a tabulated form or a state vector including force model parameters. When dealing with hundreds of thousands of space objects such as in the space conjunction assessment ...

Orbit prediction and shuttle rendezvous strategy for eureca
Acta Astronautica, 1983The European Retrievable Carrier (EURECA) is a platform to be launched and retrieved by the Space Shuttle. An analytical approach is presented for EURECA to execute the first part of the rendezvous manuevers. As part of the solution a new drag perturbation theory is developed, which includes analytical air density models and aerodynamic cross sections.

A discussion on orbital analysis - Some problems of orbital prediction
Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London. Series A, Mathematical and Physical Sciences, 1967Attention is paid to the problem of predicting accurately (a) the orbital elements of a balloon satellite over long periods of time, and (b) the time the satellite will pass through a given point in the orbit, a few days or weeks in advance of the event.

Preoperative imaging to predict orbital invasion by tumor
Head & Neck, 2000Our purpose was to examine the accuracy of preoperative imaging in assessing tumor invasion of the orbit and nasolacrimal system.Nineteen preoperative CT and 17 preoperative MR images from patients at risk for orbital invasion were retrospectively reviewed.

The prediction of satellite orbits
1963In this paper we develop a perturbation method and apply it to the prediction of orbits of earth satellites that are disturbed by various external forces. The theory of resonances and stable orbit configurations, possible when sunlight pressure is important, are also analyzed.

Molecular Orbital Predictions of Organic Spectra
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1950The energies of the first two to five electronic transitions of 16 conjugated molecules are predicted as simple one-electron LCAO molecular orbital transitions (with overlap included). Assignments of the observed levels to the predicted levels are made. Qualitative agreement is good when S=0.25 and β=23,000 cm−1 for ring systems.
