Analytical representations of precise orbit predictions for Earth orbiting space objects
Advances in Space Research, 2017Abstract Accurate orbits of Earth orbiting space objects are usually generated from an orbit determination/prediction process using numerical integrators, and presented to users in a tabulated form or a state vector including force model parameters. When dealing with hundreds of thousands of space objects such as in the space conjunction assessment ...

Orbit Determination and Prediction of the International Space Station
Journal of Spacecraft and Rockets, 2011The International Space Station is equipped with Global Positioning System receivers that provide real-time position information at the 10m accuracy level. In preparation of the Atomic Clock Ensemble in Space experiment, measurements from Russian and American receivers have been used to assess the navigation accuracy that can be achieved through ...

Orbit Prediction in the Presence of Gravitational Anomalies
AIAA Journal, 1972The classical description of a body's gravitational field is by means of an infinite series expansion in spherical harmonics, which lends itself well to most orbit determination problems. For low orbiting spacecraft, however, local gravitational anomalies have an effect on the path of a spacecraft which increases as the distance from the spacecraft to ...

Molecular Orbital Predictions of Organic Spectra
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1950The energies of the first two to five electronic transitions of 16 conjugated molecules are predicted as simple one-electron LCAO molecular orbital transitions (with overlap included). Assignments of the observed levels to the predicted levels are made. Qualitative agreement is good when S=0.25 and β=23,000 cm−1 for ring systems.

From Orbital Models to Accurate Predictions
2015Basic understanding and qualitative prediction of the isotropic magnetic coupling between two magnetic centers can be obtained with two well-established valence-only models. This chapter discusses the Kahn–Briat and Hay–Thibeault–Hoffmann models, which have been (and still are) of fundamental importance for understanding the basics of magnetism in ...

Orbital and Attitude Prediction Accuracy Requirements for Satellites
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1981This paper examines the criteria for selecting the orbital and attitude prediction accuracy requirements for communications satellites. The accuracy requirements have been analyzed in terms of the various space operations involved, e.g., satellite acquisition, guidance and control, communications, telemetry, and command.
