On eigenvalues on the orbit space
A map \(P\) equivariant with respect to a compact Lie group induces a map \(Q\) on the orbit space, which is differentiable provided that \(P\) is sufficiently smooth. An equilibrium of \(Q\) corresponds to an invariant orbit of \(P\). The author analyzes the relations between the eigenvalues of the linearization of \(Q\) at the equilibrium and those ...

Why human connection is the true metric of research success
Human‐centred mentorship can be shaped by mentor attributes, actions, intrinsic drive and career ambition. Drawing on reflections across Singapore and France, as well as workshop insights from FEBS‐IUBMB ENABLE 2024, this article shows that human‐centred mentorship creates the conditions for sustainable growth, well‐being and retention in research ...

Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

Precise Orbit Determination for the TerraSAR-X Mission
The TerraSAR-X synthetic aperture radar mission relies exclusively on GPS tracking for a precise post-facto orbit reconstruction. Besides a redundant MosaicGNSS single-frequency receiver, the satellite carries the Integrated GPS Occultation Receiver ...

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

A compactification of an orbit space
Let X be a Tychonoff G-space, G be a finite discrete group and A be a dense and invariant subspace of X. In this paper, by means of Gelfand?s method, we construct a compactification of the orbit space A/G. As an application, we show that the set of maximal ideals of even function ring with Stone topology is a compactification of non ...
