Time elements in Keplerian orbital elements

Celestial Mechanics, 1981
Time elements are introduced in terms of Keplerian (classical) orbital elements for use with time transformations of the Sundman type. Three different time elements are introduced. One time element is associated with the eccentric anomaly, a second time element is associated with the true anomaly, and a third time element is associated with the ...

The Elements of Spectroscopic Orbits

1978
The orbit is based on only one measured function, namely the radial velocity V of a star (relative to the sun) at different times. Call γ the radial velocity of the mass center of the binary (a constant unless a third body is involved), and z= dz/dt the radial part of the orbital velocity of the observed component relative to the mass center: $$V =

Orbital elements of surprise

2012
I was hom in Bradford, West Yorkshire in 1950 and by the age of ten I had developed an interest, like many children, in prehistoric animals and astronomy. In 1962 the first American piloted orbital flights began and my teacher at Wibsey Junior School, Mr Slater, brought a radio into the classroom so that we could listen to these flights.

Elements of a Chemical Orbital Theory

2009
Interaction is important in chemistry. Interactions of atoms form chemical bonds. Bonds interact with each other in molecules to determine the molecular properties. Interactions of molecules give rise to chemical reactions. Electrons control atoms, bonds, and molecules.

A set modified equinoctial orbit elements

Celestial Mechanics, 1985
Modified equinoctial elements are introduced which are suitable for perturbation analysis of all kinds of orbit. Equations of motion in Lagrangian and Gaussian forms are derived. Identities connecting the partial derivatives of the disturbing function with respect to equinoctial elements are established.

Survey of Orbit Element Sets

Journal of Guidance, Control, and Dynamics, 2008
A SURVEY of orbit element sets was conducted as part of a research and technology development task [1] which sought to develop feedback control laws and prototype tools for computing feasible, low-thrust transfers in multibody environments, where at least two celestial bodies exert significant gravitational influence on the spacecraft.

On the determination of meteoroid orbital elements

Planetary and Space Science, 1994
The classical method of the determination of the orbital elements of meteoroids is based on a sequence of corrections applied to the velocity vector of an observed meteor. The main aim of such an approach is the determination of the meteoroid's motion under the gravitational influence of the Sun but we are able to observe this motion only under the ...
