Heterogenized Copper(II) Phenanthroline Catalysts for Electroreduction of CO2 to C2 Compounds: Substitution on the Ligand Causes Structural Changes to the Molecular Framework and Stability Enhancement

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Based on a previously reported binuclear Cu(II) phenanthroline catalyst, a structurally modified version with enhanced stability for electrochemical reduction of CO2 is developed. The second‐generation system allows for stable operation in an MEA electrolyzer with a Faradaic efficiency of >70% for C2 products at elevated current densities.

Lithium‐Charged Gold Nanoparticles: A New Powerful Tool for Lithium Delivery and Modulation of Glycogen Synthase Kinase 3 Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces glutathione‐stabilized gold nanoparticles for targeted lithium delivery (LiG‐AuNPs), enabling the controlled modulation of Glycogen Synthase Kinase‐3 (GSK‐3β). These non‐toxic, 2‐nm particles release lithium intracellularly, effectively inhibiting GSK‐3β in the brain without significant plasma lithium alterations.

Transition of Néel‐Type and Bloch‐Néel Hybrid Skyrmion in a Metallic Multilayer Material System

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrated a framework for manipulating multiple skyrmion types in [Pt/Co/Cu]5 multilayers through bias‐driven thermal effects. Distinct Néel and hybrid skyrmion phases can be selectively stabilized, enabling binary encoding beyond chirality‐based schemes.

Cosolvent Electrolyte Design for Li–S Batteries: Suppressing the Shuttle Effect via Phase Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The impact of introducing cosolvents are investigated with diverse properties into a high‐donor‐number solvent for Li–S batteries. This approach regulates LiPS solubility and S3•− radical formation, strongly influencing sulfur redox kinetics. Moreover, a cosolvent with low miscibility effectively suppressed the shuttle effect, thereby enhancing cycling
