Agricultural policies in India [PDF]

open access: yes
"Since the early 1990s, India has undergone substantial economic policy reform and economic growth. Though reforms in agricultural policy have lagged those in other sectors, they have nonetheless created a somewhat more open economic orientation. In this

Off-shell extrapolation of Regge-model NN scattering amplitudes describing final state interactions in $^2H(e,e'p)$

open access: yes, 2013
In this work, an off-shell extrapolation is proposed for the Regge-model $NN$ amplitudes of \cite{FVO_Reggemodel}. A prescription for extrapolating these amplitudes for one nucleon off-shell in the initial state are given. Application of these amplitudes

Traits and functions of alpine plant communities respond strongly but not always sufficiently to in situ climate change

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 249, Issue 3, Page 1173-1187, February 2026.
Summary Increasing climate warming and summer droughts are known to affect mountain plant communities, their functional traits and life strategies. However, little is known about how strongly and efficiently communities respond to climate change, and how tightly plant responses are linked to responses of ecosystem functions.

Evolution of molecular communication in the permanent Azolla symbiosis

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 249, Issue 4, Page 1666-1674, February 2026.
Summary Heritable symbioses exist across eukaryotes with different degrees of intimacy. In most cases, the symbionts are obligate and require inheritance for their survival. On the host side, symbiont retention can facilitate fitness benefits. Only rarely are these symbioses interwoven to the point that host survival relies on the symbiont.

Functional characterization of NRT1/PTR FAMILY transporters: looking for a needle in a haystack

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 249, Issue 3, Page 1124-1144, February 2026.
Summary NRT1/PTR FAMILY (NPF) transporters play crucial roles in plant physiology and development due to their involvement in nitrogen nutrition and their ability to transport multiple signaling molecules and metabolites. Whereas most eukaryotic and prokaryotic NPF orthologs are peptide transporters, most flowering plant NPF transport other substrates ...

Contemporary hybridization among Arabis floodplain species creates opportunities for adaptation

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 249, Issue 3, Page 1542-1557, February 2026.
Summary Hybridization between closely related species is increasingly recognized as a major source of biodiversity. Yet, whether it can create advantageous trait combinations while purging harmful alleles remains unknown. To address this question, we studied Arabis nemorensis and Arabis sagittata, two endangered species that currently hybridize in a ...
