PRELIMINARY CHECKLIST OF BEETLES ASSEMBLAGES (ORDER: COLEOPTERA) FROM LIMESTONE FORESTS IN SOUTHERN SARAWAK, MALAYSIA

Serangga, 2023
Beetles are becoming important subjects of ecological interest for conservation studies due to their high biodiversity and distribution, despite rapid urbanisation and deforestation activities. How good are carabid beetles (Coleoptera, Carabidae) as indicators of invertebrate abundance and order richness?

Biodiversity and Conservation, 2012
Ground invertebrates were sampled by pitfall trapping on Brentmoor Heath, Surrey, UK during the summers of 2009 and 2010 to determine whether the abundance and species richness of carabids on bare ground patches are representative of invertebrate abundance and order richness on the same patches.

A comparison of hispine beetles (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) associated with three orders of monocot host plants in lowland Panama

International Journal of Tropical Insect Science, 2007
The feeding traces in fossil ginger leaves and the conserved phylogenetic relationships seen today in certain clades of hispine beetles on their monocot hosts point towards a long and intimate plant-insect evolutionary relationship. Studies in the 1970s and 1980s documented the rich fauna of rolled-leaf hispine beetles and their association with the ...

The Effect of Different Concentrations of the Blue-Green Algae Water Extract Anabaenaoryzae on the Adult Beetle (Calosomainquisitor) Order: Coleoptera for 24 Hours and 48 Hours after Treatment in Samarra, Iraq

Indian Journal of Public Health Research & Development, 2019
The present study included the effect of different concentrations of water extract of algae Anabeanaoryzae on the adult beetle(Calosomainquisitor) after 24 hours and 48 hours of treatment. The results showed that all concentrations were effective in giving a percentage of loss in Calosomainquisitor.

Effect of fire retardant application on heathland surface-dwelling families of the Order Coleoptera (beetles) in Victoria, Australia

Forest Ecology and Management, 2007
The effects of the application of fire retardant at varying rates on surface-dwelling Coleoptera at family level in heathland communities were assessed over a 1-year period from March 2001 to March 2002. The study was conducted at two sites, one in East Gippsland at Marlo and the other in the Grampians region of south-west Victoria where a total of ...

Catastrophic wildfire and its short-term effects on families of Order Coleoptera (beetles) inEucalyptus regnansforest in the Central Highlands of Victoria

Australian Forestry, 2000
Summary The effects of a single high-intensity catastrophic wildfire on insect order Coleoptera (beetles) at litter level were assessed in wet sclerophyll Mountain Ash (Eucalyptus regnans F.Muell.) forest over a three year period. The study was based on 14 283 specimens representing 31 families contained in 1920 pitfall trap samples from a burnt ‘high ...
