2^{2^{𝜔}} nonisomorphic short ordered commutative domains whose quotient fields are long

open access: yes, 1991
A linearly ordered set is short if it does not contain any monotonic sequence of length ω 1 {\omega _1} , and it is long if it contains a monotonic sequence of length α \alpha for ...

The Multiple Sclerosis Severity Allele rs10191329A and Cognitive Function: A UK Biobank Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The genome‐wide association study of Multiple Sclerosis severity linked the genetic variant rs10191329A to long‐term disability and implicated brain resilience as a determinant of outcome. We hypothesised that rs10191329A might influence cognition in other neurological diseases and healthy controls.

SOME REMARKS ON COMPUTABLE (NON-ARCHIMEDEAN) ORDERED FIELDS

open access: yes, 2008
Let 2F and Jf be ordered fields such that & is a sub-field of Jf. JT is said to be Archimedean over ^ if, for any aeK, there exists a (leF such that a < /?.

Diffusion through ordered force fields in nanopores represented by Smoluchowski equation

open access: yes, 2009
The classical Einstein or Fick diffusion equation was developed in random force fields. When the equation is applied to gas transport through coal, significant discrepancies are observed between experimental and simulation results. The explanation may be

Validation of the Pediatric Arthritis Ultrasound Scoring System for the Elbow, Wrist, and Finger Joints in Children With Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We aimed to validate the Pediatric Arthritis Ultrasound Scoring System (PAUSS) for upper extremity joints in children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). Methods Children with JIA were evaluated for elbow, wrist, or finger arthritis by clinical examination (CE) and musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSUS) with images scored according to the ...

Clinical Practice Guideline for Evaluation and Management of Peripheral Nervous System Manifestations in Sjögren's Disease

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Sjögren's disease is an autoimmune disorder that can impact multiple organ systems, including the peripheral nervous system (PNS). PNS manifestations, which can exist concurrently, include mononeuropathies, polyneuropathies, and autonomic nervous system neuropathies.

Embedding of some ordered integral domains into ordered fields

open access: yes, 2009
An ordered ring R is called a complete integral domain if it is an integral domain and for all a, b ∈ R such that ab < 0 and b > 0, we have a < 0.

Retractions in Rheumatology: Trends, Causes, and Implications for Research Integrity

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We aimed to describe the trends and main reasons for study retraction in rheumatology literature. Methods We reviewed the Retraction Watch database to identify retracted articles in rheumatology. We recorded the main study characteristics, authors’ countries, reasons for retraction, time from publication to retraction, and trends over time ...

Adaptive Observer for Coupled Wave PDE and Infinite ODE With Sampled Data and Unknown Input: Application to Brain Hemodynamics Estimation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This article proposes a convergent adaptive observer for a damped wave PDE and an infinite‐dimensional ODE coupled in cascade using sampled‐in‐space ODE state measurements. The proposed observer estimates the distributed states of the PDE and ODE along with unknown PDE parameters and spatial input.
