Group decision making is an integral part of operations and management functions in almost every business domain with substantial applications in finance and economics. In parallel to human decision makers, software agents operate in business systems and environments, collaborate, compete and perform algorithmic decision-making tasks as well.

Measurement, 2021
Abstract This paper proposes a minimum parameter system (MPS) model based on a particular data fusion method capable of reducing the uncertainties and providing more accurate results. We have applied the model to the data taken from an electronic nose.

SAS/OWA: ordered weighted averaging in SAS optimization
Soft Computing, 2009This paper explores the use of the optimization procedures in SAS/OR software with application to the ordered weight averaging (OWA) operators of decision-making units (DMUs). OWA was originally introduced by Yager (IEEE Trans Syst Man Cybern 18(1):183–190, 1988) has gained much interest among researchers, hence many applications such as in the areas ...

This study aims to determine suitable locations for artificial recharge of groundwater (ARG) using the GIS-based analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and order weight average (OWA). To determine the weights of the different parameters, the AHP method of pair-comparison was used after preparing a fuzzy map for each attribute.

Application of the Ordered Weighted Averaging (OWA) method to the Caspian Sea conflict
Stochastic Environmental Research and Risk Assessment, 2014This study proposes a promising allocation mechanism of the Caspian Sea natural resources, which are presently shared among five countries. To date, these nations have been unable to reach an allocation agreement. We apply a methodology to propose the most appropriate solution under different risk attitudes of the states.

Consensus Degrees Under Fuzziness via Ordered Weighted Average (OWA) Operators
1995The use of Yager’s (1988) OWA (ordered weighted average) operators is proposed for handling fuzzy linguistic quantifiers (many, most, almost all,... ) which are used for the formalization of a fuzzy majority in the derivation of a “soft” degree of consensus under fuzzy preferences proposed in the authors’ works (Fedrizzi, 1988; Kacprzyk, 1987; Kacprzyk

This paper focuses on the parameterized-ordered weighted averaging (OWA) method. OWA is a family of multicriteria evaluation (or combination) rules. The proposed approach uses a parameter that serves as a mechanism for guiding multicriteria evaluation procedures.

Supporting consensus reaching under fuzziness via ordered weighted averaging (OWA) operators
Soft Computing in Intelligent Systems and Information Processing. Proceedings of the 1996 Asian Fuzzy Systems Symposium, 2002The author discusses computer support of consensus reaching in a group of individuals under fuzzy preferences and a fuzzy majority, using a group DSS (GDSS), and supervised by a "super-individual", a moderator, who monitors and runs the process. For measuring how far the group is from "consensus", Kacprzyk and Fedrizzi's (1986, 1988, 1989, 1995) soft ...

The main objective of this study is to develop a methodology that integrates indicators for performance assessment of small drinking water utilities. The investigation entails 10 water utilities in the Province of Quebec (Canada) that use surface water or groundwater under the direct influence of runoff, and apply chlorination as the only treatment ...
