Ordinal logistic regression analysis of flight task ratings

The Aeronautical Journal, 2006
AbstractThe relationship between a pilot workload rating for a simulated flight task in the proximity of an offshore platform helideck and three experimental factors – wind speed, wind direction and pilot is investigated. The statistical method employed is ordinal logistic regression, which allows the specifying and fitting of regression relationships ...

Ordinal Logistic Regression

2001
Many medical and epidemiologic studies incorporate an ordinal response variable. In some cases an ordinal response Y represents levels of a standard measurement scale such as severity of pain (none, mild, moderate, severe). In other cases, ordinal responses are constructed by specifying a hierarchy of separate endpoints.

Assessing Ordinal Logistic Regression Models via Nonparametric Smoothing

Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 2008
A nonparametric local linear smoothing technique for testing goodness-of-fit of ordinal logistic regression models with continuous and categorical covariates is presented. This proposed test statistic is a generalization of Lin and Chen's statistic (2005) to ordinal response data.

Aquifer vulnerability assessment to heavy metals using ordinal logistic regression

Groundwater, 2005
Abstract A methodology using ordinal logistic regression is proposed to predict the probability of occurrence of heavy metals in ground water. The predicted probabilities are defined with reference to the background concentration and the maximum contaminant level.

Ordinal regression model and the linear regression model were superior to the logistic regression models

Journal of Clinical Epidemiology, 2006
Ordinal scales often generate scores with skewed data distributions. The optimal method of analyzing such data is not entirely clear. The objective was to compare four statistical multivariable strategies for analyzing skewed health-related quality of life (HRQOL) outcome data.

Differential Item Functioning Analysis With Ordinal Logistic Regression Techniques

Medical Care, 2006
We present an ordinal logistic regression model for identification of items with differential item functioning (DIF) and apply this model to a Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) dataset. We employ item response theory ability estimation in our models. Three nested ordinal logistic regression models are applied to each item.

Ordinal logistic regression versus multiple binary logistic regression model for predicting student loan allocation

Journal of Agriculture, Science and Technology, 2015
This paper examines two different methodologies to a classification problem of higher education loan applicants. The paper looks into the allocations made by the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) relative to the economic status of the applicant. In this article, we modeled Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) loan application data from three public ...
