Stream Kriging: Incremental and recursive ordinary Kriging over spatiotemporal data streams

Computers and Geosciences, 2016
Ordinary Kriging is widely used for geospatial interpolation and estimation. Due to the O(n3) time complexity of solving the system of linear equations, ordinary Kriging for a large set of source points is computationally intensive. Conducting real-time Kriging interpolation over continuously varying spatiotemporal data streams can therefore be ...

Comparing the robustness of ordinary kriging and lognormal kriging: Outlier resistance

Mathematical Geosciences, 1988
Ordinary kriging is well-known to be optimal when the data have a multivariate normal distribution (and if the variogram is known), whereas lognormal kriging presupposes the multivariate lognormality of the data. But in practice, real data never entirely satisfy these assumptions.

Spatial Variability of Rock Depth Using Simple Kriging, Ordinary Kriging, RVM and MPMR

Geotechnical and Geological Engineering, 2014
The determination of rock depth is an important task in geotechnical and geological engineering. This article examines the capability of simple kriging, ordinary kriging, Relevance Vector Machine (RVM) and Minimax Probability Machine Regression (MPMR) for prediction of rock depth at any point in Vellore(India).

Strain estimation using ordinary Kriging interpolation

Survey Review, 2016
The ordinary kriging interpolation method is adopted to estimate the 2-D strain tensor elements. The results are then compared with those of the linear and spline interpolation methods. The ordinary kriging method is implemented on 12 GPS permanent stations in South California, collected during 2006 to 2012.

Texture Interpolation Using Ordinary Kriging

2005
We present a survey of the application of ordinary Kriging to texture interpolation using a variety of models that have been proposed to model the variogram of the image. The novelty of our approach is in the fully automated process of fitting the models to the data over a finite range of values.

Image restoration by fuzzy convex ordinary kriging

Proceedings 2000 International Conference on Image Processing (Cat. No.00CH37101), 2002
Ordinary kriging and fuzzy sets are combined to derive a spatial filter for restoring degraded images. As kriging is a nonconvex estimation technique and negative kriging weights applied to image data can give estimates outside the range of pixel values. Convexity is therefore required in this image analysis to ensure no negative weights.

Ordinary Kriging Surrogates in Aerodynamics

2018
This chapter describes the methodology used to construct Kriging-based surrogate models and their possible application to uncertainty quantification and robust shape optimization. More particularly, a two-dimensional RAE 2822 airfoil at transonic speed is considered for which the shape of the baseline profile is altered by localized bumps of small ...
