Spatial prediction of soil properties in two contrasting physiographic regions in Brazil

open access: yesScientia Agricola, 2016
This study compared the performance of ordinary kriging (OK) and regression kriging (RK) to predict soil physical-chemical properties in topsoil (0-15 cm).

ANALISIS DATA GEOSTATISTIK MENGGUNAKAN METODE ORDINARY KRIGING [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013

Epistemic and aleatoric uncertainty quantification in weather and climate models

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
Aleatoric and epistemic uncertainties over time on weather and climate time‐scales, estimated through ensembles that sample aleatoric and epistemic uncertainty using Bayesian neural networks for parameterisations in the Lorenz 1996 model. The spread shows the 16th and 84th percentiles.

Using Airborne Laser Scanning and Sentinel‐2 to Understand Subcanopy Light Regimes and Understory Diversity of Vascular Plants in Temperate Mountain Forests

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that not just Airborne Laser Scanning, but also Sentinel‐2 can effectively estimate absolute canopy cover and canopy cover heterogeneity ‐ structural metrics that determine the subcanopy light regime, found to be linked to the vascular plant species richness in the understory of temperate mountain forests.

SPATIAL INSIGHTS INTO EARTHQUAKE STRENGTH: A SULAWESI CASE STUDY USING ORDINARY AND ROBUST KRIGING METHODS

open access: yesBarekeng
The data from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) in the last 22 years shows that there have been 230 destructive earthquakes in Indonesia with the highest incidence in 2021.

Mapping the topsoil pH and humus quality of forest soils in the North Bohemian Jizerské hory Mts. region with ordinary, universal, and regression kriging: cross-validation comparison

open access: yesSoil and Water Research, 2013
North Bohemia belongs to one of the most heavily industrialized and polluted regions in Europe. The enormous acid deposition which culminated in the 1970s has largely contributed to the accelerated acidification process in the soils and consequently to ...

Spatial Prediction and Optimized Sampling Design for Sodium Concentration in Groundwater. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Sodium is an integral part of water, and its excessive amount in drinking water causes high blood pressure and hypertension. In the present paper, spatial distribution of sodium concentration in drinking water is modeled and optimized sampling designs ...

Ordinary multigaussian kriging for mapping conditional probabilities of soil properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This paper addresses the problem of assessing the risk of deficiency or excess of a soil property at unsampled locations, and more generally of estimating a function of such a property given the information monitored at sampled sites.
