Response of the ordinary least squares estimator (OLS) to deterministic and stochastic noise

Mapping functions and OPDFs (optimum parameter driving functions) defined in this paper are simple, intuitive, and useful tools for evaluating OLS parameter estimates. Parameter errors equal the inner product of the noise waveform and the mapping functions.

An examination of residual distributions in Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) household- based trip generation models

Abstract It is shown that the residual distributions obtained from typical OLS household-based trip generation models do not comply with the assumptions inherent in the use of ordinary least-squares. In particular, heteroscedasticity is likely to occur invalidating the estimation of coefficient standard errors by OLS procedure.

In this study, the consumer prices, real gross domestic product (GDP) and unemployment for Germany and Turkey between 2006 and 2011 are geometrically interpreted by using Lagrange interpolation and OLS method.
