The Performance of Lag Selection and Detrending Methods for HEGY Seasonal Unit Root Tests [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This paper analyzes two key issues for the empirical implementation of parametric seasonal unit root tests, namely generalized least squares (GLS) versus ordinary least squares (OLS) detrending and the selection of the lag augmentation polynomial ...

A Comparison of Partial Least Squares (PLS) and Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regressions in predicting of couples mental health based on their communicational patterns

open access: yesProcedia - Social and Behavioral Sciences, 2010
AbstractPurpose: The Goal of this study is to compare two regression models (PLS and OLS) in order to determine which one is more robust in a study of predicting couples mental healthMethod: The data used in this study are those driven from the study conducted by Imaninezhed te.al (2009).

Integration of Moran’s I, geographically weighted regression (GWR), and ordinary least square (OLS) models in spatiotemporal modeling of COVID-19 outbreak in Qom and Mazandaran Provinces, Iran

open access: yesModeling Earth Systems and Environment, 2023
Globally, the COVID-19 pandemic is a top-level public health concern. This paper attempts to identify the COVID-19 pandemic in Qom and Mazandaran provinces, Iran using spatial analysis approaches. This study was based on secondary data of confirmed cases and deaths from February 3, 2020, to late October 2021, in two Qom and Mazandaran provinces from ...

The Amplifying Effect of Conflicts on Case Fatality Rate of COVID-19: Evidence From 120 Countries

open access: yesFrontiers in Public Health, 2021
Using the COVID-19 database of Johns Hopkins University, this study examines the determinants of the case fatality rate of COVID-19. We consider various potential determinants of the mortality risk of COVID-19 in 120 countries. The Ordinary Least Squares

Ridge Regression and Ill-Conditioning [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Hoerl and Kennard (1970) suggested the ridge regression estimator as an alternative to the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) estimator in the presence of multicollinearity.

Association of Corticospinal Tract Asymmetry With Ambulatory Ability After Intracerebral Hemorrhage

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ambulatory ability after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is important to patients. We tested whether asymmetry between ipsi‐ and contra‐lesional corticospinal tracts (CSTs) assessed by diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is associated with post‐ICH ambulation.

PRELIVE: A Framework for Predicting Lipid Nanoparticles In Vivo Efficacy and Reducing Reliance on Animal Testing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
PREdicting LNP In Vivo Efficacy (PRELIVE) framework enables the prediction of lipid nanoparticle (LNPs) organ‐specific delivery through dual modeling approaches. Composition‐based models using formulation parameters and protein corona‐based models using biological fingerprints both achieve high predictive accuracy across multiple organs.
