Spatial Strategies in Coral Transplantation: A Systematic Review of Clustered Versus Widespread Configurations

open access: yesAquatic Conservation: Marine and Freshwater Ecosystems, Volume 36, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Active coral reef restoration incorporates ecological engineering principles. Yet, the spatial arrangement of transplanted colonies, one of the few design parameters directly controlled by practitioners, remains poorly explored empirically. We conducted a systematic review following PRISMA guidelines to evaluate how clustered (high‐density ...

A Global Synthesis of Multidimensional Nested Patterns and Its Conservation Implications for Insular Amphibians

open access: yesDiversity and Distributions, Volume 32, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim Nestedness possesses the capacity to unravel the ecological mechanisms underpinning biodiversity distribution and directly inform evidence‐based conservation strategies. However, previous studies have typically been confined to individual archipelagos and have predominantly focused on taxonomic nestedness alone, neglecting its cross ...

Effects of selective harvest on antler size of white‐tailed deer in Texas, USA

open access: yesWildlife Monographs, Volume 222, Issue 1, June 2026.
We conducted 20 years of experiments on the selective harvest of white‐tailed deer by antler size, judged inferior, in 2 areas of South Texas, USA. Selective harvest increased the phenotypic antler size of older males in one study area but not the other. There was little evidence of evolution resulting from selective harvesting. Abstract There has been
