Articulation-related features in the pipe organ sound

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2014
Investigations in the domain of sound growth in organ pipes resulted in describing some of the articulation-related features. An equivalent electrical circuit of an organ action was created basing on computer modeling techniques.

Harnessing Phase Separation for the Development of High‐Performance Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hydrogels are indispensable for the development of next‐generation bioelectronics, soft robotics, and biomedical devices, where their mechanical properties determine performance and reliability. Among strategies to enhance hydrogel mechanics, phase separation enables controlled heterogeneity resulting in gel networks that are reinforced by ...

Mixed‐Coordination Electrolytes With Molecular Additives for Robust Interphases in High‐Voltage Rechargeable Magnesium Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A mixed‐coordination electrolyte (MCE) combined with a molecular additive (MCE‐MA) promotes pseudo ion pair (pIP) formation within a solvent‐separated ion pair (SSIP)–rich environment, enabling a robust interphase that significantly improves the cycle performance of high‐voltage rechargeable magnesium batteries (RMBs).

Unconstrained Coordination of Pt Single Atoms on Distorted g‐C3N4 Enables Electronic Flexibility and Enhanced Microplastics Photoreforming

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals Pt single atoms anchored on distorted graphitic carbon nitride, exhibiting flexible coordination and enhanced interfacial charge transfer. Combined spectroscopy and DFT reveal asymmetric Pt─N environments that promote photoreforming of microplastics into hydrogen, demonstrating a solar‐driven pathway for plastic upcycling with ...

From Flow to Function: Using Different Static Mixers to Fabricate Microarchitected Materials Via Chaotic Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Complex microarchitectures emerge from simple flow‐driven transformations as static mixers iteratively reorient and split material domains. Coupled with diverse deposition strategies, chaotic printing provides an accessible platform for fabricating architected materials that support biologically and chemically relevant processes. ABSTRACT Nature builds

Numerical study on role of foot of a flue organ pipe: relative phases in oscillations among pipe, foot and jet

open access: yesActa Acustica
Recent numerical studies showed that the foot of flue organ pipes closed at one end acts as a Helmholtz resonator and influences the acoustic oscillation in the pipe.

Synchronization of organ pipes: experimental observations and modeling [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2006
We report measurements on the synchronization properties of organ pipes. First, we investigate influence of an external acoustical signal from a loudspeaker on the sound of an organ pipe. Second, the mutual influence of two pipes with different pitch is analyzed.
