Helical Assembly of Long‐Chain Unsubstituted Poly(Para‐Phenylene) Immobilized on Individual Cellulose Nanocrystals

open access: yesAggregate, EarlyView.
We report a method to synthesize chiral unsubstituted PPP with high molecular weights and the chirality transfer from individual CNC to PPP via intermolecular forces. PPP immobilized on CNCs exhibits right‐handed helical intra‐ and inter‐chain self‐assembly, and CNC–PPP clusters display various pronounced optical properties, which provide strategies ...

Bio‐Inspired Pancreas With Microfluidic Multi‐Component Hydrogel Microfibers for Exploring Pancreatic Exocrine and Endocrine Interactions

open access: yesAggregate, EarlyView.
A bionic pancreas model incorporating core‐shell microfibers that encapsulate pancreatic stellate cells (PSCs) and β‐cells provides valuable insights into PSCs activation, cell‐cell interactions, and diabetes progression. Furthermore, the potential of this bio‐inspired pancreas for drug screening is demonstrated by testing with a glucagon‐like peptide ...
