Carbon sequestration potential of tea garden soil in northwest Zhejiang and its accumulation characteristic on different fractions of organic carbon

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2016
Organic carbon is the basis of soil system, which plays an important role in the soil quality and regulating the supply of nutrients. Physical, chemical and biological properties and productivity of soil were all closely related to the content and ...

Zein‐Based Adhesives: Sustainable Extraction and Application in Bioadhesive Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Zein is extracted from corn gluten meal using a simple and scalable process with high yield (~90%). The resulting protein is applied in bioadhesives modified with Ca2+ and Fe3+ ions, exhibiting substrate‐dependent adhesion. The findings demonstrate competitive bonding performance and highlight the role of ionic interactions in tuning adhesion ...

Oxide‐Free Titanium Coatings by Wire Arc Spraying in a Silane‐Doped Inert Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A silane‐doped argon atmosphere enables the production of oxide‐free titanium coatings via twin‐wire arc spraying at ambient pressure. This innovative approach eliminates residual oxygen, creating process conditions that prevent oxidation and nitride formation.

High-resolution Quaternary record of marine organic carbon content in the hemipelagic sediments of the Japan Sea from bromine counts measured by XRF core scanner

open access: yesProgress in Earth and Planetary Science, 2019
The marine organic carbon content in sediments is a useful tool for reconstructing past productivity in the ocean. Bromine has been proposed as a useful proxy for marine organic carbon, since bromine is more concentrated in marine organic matter compared

Basic principles for sampling and reporting for studies involving the measurement of carbon sequestration in soils : [Abstract 588] [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Variation in soil organic carbon (SOC) levels due to differences in soil management has been the subject of much investigation over the past decades. More recently, growing concerns relating to the consequences of increasing carbon dioxide levels in the ...

Tailored Hierarchical Porous Copper Architectures via Three Dimensional Printing and Pressure‐less Sintering for Next‐Generation Lithium‐Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A hierarchical porous copper current collector is fabricated via three‐dimensional printing combined with pressureless sintering to stabilize lithium metal anodes. The interconnected architecture lowers local current density, guides uniform Li deposition within pores, and suppresses dendrite growth.

Effect of Laser Deoxidation on Adhesive‐Bonded Aluminum in an Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates laser ablation of aluminum under oxygen‐free conditions. The goal is to produce oxide‐free substrates that enable improved adhesive bonding with epoxy. Optimized laser parameters (90% overlap, 300 µJ) combined with oxide‐free substrates result in the highest tensile strength of the adhesive bond.

Biomarker analysis revealed tidal organic carbon input enhanced soil respiration and weakened carbon sequestration function of estuarine wetland: Field validation of the Jiuduansha Wetland in the Yangtze River estuary

open access: yesGeoderma
In estuarine wetlands, tidal water is an important source of organic carbon input besides plants. However, it remains unclear whether tidal organic carbon input can affect soil organic carbon turnover processes in estuarine wetlands, especially soil ...
